This annual event will take place on Saturday, October 15 at Rolston Park from 2:00 p.m. until dark when we will set off our Memory Lantern over Portersville Bay. There will be live music with a DJ along with our popular open auction and the cake/pie walk with homemade cakes and pies. This year, along with our regular offering of jambalaya ($3.00 cup), we will also have gumbo ($4.00 cup). There will be various vendors, face painting for the children and a bounce house. Split the Pot tickets will be sold starting at 2:00 p.m. and continue all afternoon with the drawing after returning from the walk. Our “Best Dressed Bra” contest was so popular last year, it will now be a regular part of this event. So ladies and gentlemen, let’s see some creativity. There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes for this event. All proceeds will be donated in honor of Nita Cain to the Mostellar Medical Center where they are used to provide mammograms and treatment of those who otherwise would not be able to afford this often lifesaving screening and treatment. Please contact Angela Cain-Hawkins at (251) 786-0405 for more information and come on out to see what it is all about.
