The City of Bayou La Batre will have an AUCTION on one 20×30 Auxiliary Building The Auction will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. Noon. The building is located behind the Community Center at 12745 Padgett Switch Road Irvington, AL 36544. The interior of the building can be viewed Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Please contact Brandi Zirlott at (251) 824-7918 to set up an appointment to view. The person that bids the highest is responsible for moving the building after purchase is complete. The Recipient of the auctioned building must provide certified funds to the City Clerk to the City of Bayou la Batre on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 before 6:00 p.m. to take possession of the auxiliary building. The City of Bayou la Batre reserves the right to refuse all bids if a reserve is not met.  **The City Council reserves the right to refuse all bids if a reserve amount is not met**

The City of Bayou La Batre offices and buildings will be CLOSED on Monday, October 14, 2019 in observance of Columbus Day. Normal business hours and services will resume on Tuesday, October 15, 2019.

NEW VOTING MACHINES demonstrations Mobile County has purchased new voting machine systems and Judge Davis has scheduled “hands on” demonstrations at various locations throughout the county. On Wednesday October 9th and Thursday, October 10, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., these new machines will be at the Bayou La Batre Community Center. Probate staff will be available during these times to demonstrate the new machines. There will be a ballot counter and an ADA marking device to assist persons with disabilities.     

City of Bayou La Batre Work Sessions and Council Meetings are as follows; the first Work Session of the month will be held on Monday, October, 7 at 6 p.m. The first council meeting of the month will be held on the following Thursday, October 10, beginning at 6 p.m. ~ the second Work Session of the month will be held on Monday, October 21, at 6 p.m. the second Council meeting of the month will be held on Thursday, October 24 at 6 p.m.  Please call City Hall at 251-824-2171 with any questions or to request to be put on the speakers list. All of these meetings are open to the public.  Community involvement and input is highly encouraged.

The Bayou La Batre Chamber of Commerce meets on the third Tuesday of each month at the Bayou La Batre Community Center.  Meetings start at Noon. Attend the meeting to see what is happening in the business community of the Greater Bayou La Batre area! Become a Chamber member today!  Business and individual rates are available. Bootcamp Classes are held at the Bayou La Batre Community Center Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Please bring hand weights, a yoga mat for floor work and refillable water bottle to all classes. These classes are for all ages and all activity levels.  For more information on this program please call Tammy House at 251-367-0014.

The Bayou La Batre Senior Center is open MONDAY – THURSDAY from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  The Senior Center is open to area residents ages 60 and older. Join this group for games, field trips, picnics, fellowship and fun!  Transportation to and from the Senior Center is available for area residents who reside within the City of Bayou La Batre City Limits and Police Jurisdiction. 2nd Annual Christmas on the Bayou Shopping Spectacular  – Friday, November 1  6-9:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 2, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Location- BLB Community Center

Hosted by A’Bekah’s Boutique to benefit BLB Senior Center.  Approximately 50 vendors (great time to shop for Christmas), Silent Auction, and Santa will be there. Food will be available for purchase. $5.00 entry, kids 12 & under free
