Another summer has come and gone and another school year is upon us. Making sure your students are meeting the requirements for the uniform policy is imperative and listed below you can find the uniform policies for all the schools in our South Mobile County area.
Booth Elementary School
Girls – (Girls are not allowed to wear skirts). Pants/Shorts: Navy or Plaid Uniform Pants. Navy or Plaid Uniform Jumpers (the only acceptable “plaid” is our specific school uniform plaid – Plaid #49). Navy or Plaid Uniform Skorts (not skirts)*. Navy or Plaid Shorts. Shirts: Red or White Polo Shirt. Socks: Navy, Brown, Black, or Tan Socks. Red, White, or Navy Tights. Shoes: Any color athletic tennis shoe. Outerwear: Navy or Red Sweater/Sweatshirt. Navy Jackets (Preferred). Belts: Navy, Tan, Brown, White, or Black Belt (IF NEEDED). Boys–Pants/Shorts: Navy Pants or Shorts. Shirts: Red or White Polo Shirt. Socks: Navy, Brown, Black, or Tan Socks. Shoes: Any color athletic tennis shoe. Outerwear: Navy or Red Sweater/Sweatshirt. Navy Jacket (PREFERRED). Belts: Navy, Tan, Brown, White, or Black Belt (IF NEEDED). All Pants for both Girls and Boys must be uniform-style with no jeans, sweatpants, stretch pants, or cargo pants.
Breitling Elementary
Girls – Tops: Navy or white 2 button style Polo or white button down shirt. 2017-2018 spirit shirts can be worn any day of the week. 2017-2018 spirit shirts for clubs or other events can only be worn on Friday. ALL undershirts must be solid navy blue or white. NO PREVIOUS YEAR SPIRIT SHIRTS!!!! Bottom: Khaki pants, shorts, skorts, jumpers and skirts (shorts under skirts) – all appropriate length. No tight or form fitting clothing. Socks: Solid matching socks. White, black, or navy ONLY! Solid white or navy leggings/tights. NO NEON COLORS!!!

Socks: Solid matching socks. White, black, or navy ONLY! NO NEON COLORS!!! Shoes: Tennis shoes or Sperry shoes. Shoes must cover the entire foot and have a regular toe. No lights or wheels. Shoes must be worn properly. NO boots, wedges, ballet slippers, water socks, Toms/Bobs, Mary Janes, etc. Outerwear: Jackets, sweatshirts and sweaters shall be SOLID navy blue, white or grey. Additional Notes: Outerwear policy will be enforced inside the school building. Jeans will only be allowed on days specified by the principal. Spirit shirts may be worn on Fridays. Logos on clothing may read Breitling Elementary. Other logos must be smaller than a fifty cent piece. Only stud earrings or those flat on the ear can be worn (this is a safety issue). Necklaces, bracelets, or other jewelry that is distracting will not be allowed. ANYTHING ELSE THAT IS DISTRACTING OR DISRUPTIVE TO THE EDUCATION ENVIRONMENT WILL BE CONSIDERED ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS BY THE PRINCIPAL.
Castlen Elementary School
Boys – Shirts: Solid red or white shirt polo, solid white oxford style (must have collar), or any Castlen t-shirt. Pants/Belt/Socks: Navy pants and knee length navy shorts (with belt loops). Brown belt Solid navy, red or white socks. Shoes: Tennis shoes with rubber soles only (no Sperry’s, high tops, skates, cleats, boots, etc.).
Girls – Shirts: Solid red or white polo shirt, solid oxford style shirt (must have collar), or any Castlen t-shirt. Bottoms/Belt/Socks: Navy pants, knee length navy shorts (with belt loops), or navy skorts, skirts and jumpers (knee length). Brown belt. Knee length navy Castlen plaid skirt or jumper. Solid navy, red, or white socks. Solid navy, red or white tights (for cold weather only). Shoes: Tennis shoes with rubber soles only (no high tops, skates, etc.). Additional Notes: Gray, red, white, or navy sweatshirts are allowed. Gray, red, white, or navy cardigan style sweaters are allowed. Gray, red, white, or navy jackets or windbreakers are allowed. Spirit t-shirts (Castlen) may be worn Monday through Friday. No jewelry
of any type except for stud earrings. (no watches) Makeup: None (including false fingernails) clear chapstick or lip balm is permitted Monograms: Shirts may be monogrammed in navy, gray, red, or white stitching with Castlen Cubs. Letters need to be block style. Total monogramming needs to be between 1 1/2 and 3 inches long. Cub paws are allowed. No ball caps or hats of any type are acceptable. On cold days, heavy winter coats and hats are allowed but are to be removed when students enter the building.
Dixon Elementary School
Pants/Shorts: KHAKI or navy uniform pants or walking shorts. Shorts must be no shorter than 4 inches above the knee. NO cargo pants, NO jeans or denim, NO low rise or sagging pants, NO frayed or ripped pants legs Shirts: (No logos other than a Dixon logo). Official Dixon uniform t-shirt(short/long sleeve). Solid white or red polo style. Solid white button-down or Peter Pan collar. Solid white or red turtle neck (cold weather). Dixon event/spirit shirt may be worn on Fridays. Shoes: sneakers (not higher than ankle) with non-skid rubber soles, no lights or wheels. NO BOOTS, Crocs, top siders, or sandals. Socks: White, Navy, or black (girls may wear tights/ leggings—solid white, red, or navy only) Belts: Solid or woven black, navy, brown (standard length, not hanging excessively) Girls Bottoms: Girls only jumpers, skirts, & skorts: Navy blue or Dixon plaid #49, No shorter than 4 inches above knee. Shorts must be worn under skirts and jumpers. Hair: Natural hair color and conservative / non-distracting hair styles. NO colored highlights or hair pieces. NO Mohawk or razor design style haircuts. Bangs-kept at a length that is out of eyesight. Outerwear: Official Dixon Sweatshirt, Sweater, Jacket, Windbreaker, Sweatshirt, or Fleece that is as follows: Solid Red or Navy only. Only uniform outerwear will be allowed to be worn in classrooms. Jewelry/Accessories: Hair accessories must be conservative, and non-distracting and worn in the hair (not on forehead). NO make-up or lipstick, Earrings must be small in size, No fake fingernails, it is a safety issue. NO tattoos, body art, NO body piercings, Necklaces must be worn inside shirts, Only ONE wrist accessory. Any other item that is a distraction to the learning environment will not be allowed.
St. Elmo Elementary School
Boys – Shirts: St. Elmo School Polo, St. Elmo T-Shirt, Solid Navy or Gold Polos, St. Elmo School Fleece, Sweatshirt, or Wind Breaker, Solid Navy or White Sweater, Sweatshirt, or Fleece. Solid Navy Blue Jackets Only. Outdoor Jackets: Parent Choice (Outdoor Wear Only)
Bottoms/Belts: Ankle Length Pants: Uniform Style Only KHAKI Pants. Knee-Length Shorts: Uniform Style Only Knee length KHAKI Shorts. Solid Black or Brown Belt (required for pants or shorts for all grades except kindergarten). Standard, Non-decorative Belt Buckles. Note: No jean or cargo style pants or shorts. No Khaki jeans. No outer pocket rivets or stitching. Socks: Socks: SOLID White or Black Socks. Shoes: SOLID WHITE, Plain Leather Athletic Shoes. SOLID WHITE Shoe Strings

Outerwear: St. Elmo School Fleece, Sweatshirt, or Wind Breaker, Solid Navy or White Sweater, Sweatshirt, or Fleece. Indoor Jackets: Solid Navy Blue Jackets Only. Outdoor Jackets: Parent Choice (Outdoor Wear Only). Bottoms/Belts: Ankle-Length Pants: Uniform Style Only KHAKI Pants. Knee-Length Shorts, Capris, Skirts, Jumpers, Skorts: Uniform Style Only KHAKI Walking Shorts or Capris Uniform Style Only KHAKI. Belts: Solid Black or Brown Belt (required for pants or shorts for all grades except kindergarten). Standard, Non-decorative Belt Buckles. Note: No jean or cargo style pants or shorts. Alba Middle School
Shirts: Solid Red “polo” shirt with collar – long or short sleeve. Spirit/Club shirts may be worn on THURSDAY only. Official school T-shirts may be worn on FRIDAY only. All shirts must be tucked into pants at all times and may not be form fitting. Pants/Shorts: Khaki uniform style pants or shorts. Pants/Shorts must be worn at the waist. Shorts may be worn during 1St and 4th quarter only. Short length: shorts should be to the knee. No over size or under size pants/shorts – may not be falling down or form fitting. Shoes: Any color athletic tennis shoe. Socks must be worn. NOT PERMITTED: boots of any kind, sandals, slippers, baby doll shoes, crocs, flip-flops, etc. Belts: No large or offensive buckles allowed. Outwear: Solid Red, Navy Blue, or Royal Blue, sweaters, sweatshirts or jackets only. No design or logos larger than 1” other than approved Alba Middle School logos. No other shirt may be worn over the school shirt as outerwear. Team jackets approved by administration may be worn by current team members only. Heavier Coats may be worn on cold days (below 50°) but MUST be removed inside the building. Hair & Headwear: Hair may not be dyed, streaked or highlighted a color that is not a natural hair color. No hats or headwear allowed on campus. Jewelry: No piercings of any kind other than earrings. Administration has the right to forbid any article of clothing deemed inappropriate.
Grand Bay Middle School
Girls and Boys: Shirts: Collared, polo-style shirts in appropriate grade level color OR school t-shirts sold in office. No other shirts will be allowed. 6th Grade: Gold shirts. 7th Grade: Black shirts. 8th Grade: Gray shirts. Shirts must be tucked in at all times. CURRENT Team/Club shirts may be worn on Fridays only. If a student chooses to wear a long-sleeved undershirt, it must be one of the school uniform colors. Girls may not have shirts open to reveal undergarments. Pants or shorts: Khaki uniform-style pants or shorts. Shorts should be fingertip length (with extended arms by side). Girls may also wear Capri pants. NO SKIRTS (Religious exemptions only). Belt: Belts are optional but pants MUST be worn at the natural waistline. No unusual colors or decorations. Shoes: Any athletic/tennis shoes or any flat black, brown, or tan leather gum-soled shoes that do not scuff floors. No “toed” type shoes. Toes and heels of shoes must be enclosed. NO BOOTS. Socks: Socks or no-shows must be worn at all times. Outerwear: School uniform jacket or school sweatshirt/sweater in gold, gray, or black. On cold days, heavier coats are allowed, but are to be removed when students enter building. Additional Notes: School uniforms are expected to be neat, clean, in good repair, and should fit properly. Regular uniform pants must be full length and cannot be rolled or folded to a shorter length. They must be the appropriate length, neatly hemmed, and should not be worn below the waist. They may not be frayed, split, or cut at the bottom. No corduroy or spandex pants are allowed. NO OVERSIZED OR SAGGING. Students must wear appropriate size clothing. No body piercings except for the earlobes. Studs or small hoops only are recommended for safety reasons. Necklaces should be worn on the inside of the shirt collar. Wallet chains are not permitted. The school will not be responsible for lost, stolen, or loaned jewelry. No sweatbands or armbands. Hair must be neat, clean, and out of the eyes. ALL HAIR MUST BE OF A NATURAL HAIR COLOR. NO ALTERED HAIR COLOR, for example Blue, Green, Orange, Purple, Fire-Engine Red or any other color deemed inappropriate by administration. No hats or head coverings are to be worn on campus during school hours or on buses. No hoods may be worn in the buildings or on buses. No writing on the body. Administration has the right to forbid any article of clothing deemed inappropriate. It is for the safety of GBMS students that the above rules are to be followed.
Alma Bryant High School
Shirts: Solid Navy OR Solid Gray; Crew Neck or Collared Pullover; Long or short sleeves (half-sleeves and sleeveless are unacceptable). Logos: Approved Bryant HS logos ONLY (Brand Logos, i.e. Hollister, Aeropostale, etc., must be small enough to be covered by a quarter) Undershirts: Solid Navy OR Solid Gray OR Solid White. Outerwear/Jackets: Solid Navy OR Solid Gray, Approved Bryant High School/ Organization sponsored jackets or sweatshirts. Pants/Shorts: Uniform style cotton twill khaki ONLY – no cargo-style, denim, corduroy, or leggings; shorts must be knee length. Skirts: ALLOWED FOR RELIGIOUS PURPOSES ONLY. Knee length uniform style cotton twill khaki. Belts: Black OR Brown ONLY worn properly within belt loops. Shoes: All shoes EXCEPT backless, toeless, sandals, house shoes. Socks: Solid Navy OR Solid Gray OR Solid Black OR Solid White. Accessories: NO facial jewelry, NO wallet chains, NO headwear, including hoods, hats/caps, bandanas, sweat bands, hair rollers, hair picks, etc. Natural hair colors ONLY.
